Brass-Bound Mahogany Box

hover over image to zoom

A wonderful gentleman-officer's travelling case, now sadly devoid of its accessories. This would have held dressing tools and bottles or canisters for lotions and potions for grooming and health. It is made from the finest mahogany by a very capable craftsman from the mid 19th century. When closed and locked it can be carried by the flush folding handle to the lid, to the right hand side is a snap-locked drawer opened by the same key used to unlock the main lid.

English circa 1860.
