A fine and beautifully presented bronze sculpture showing the Duke of Wellington on his famous and favourite mount, Copenhagen, the architectural plinth set with the title in sharply cut, gilded lettering, the bronze base beneath the horse's hoofs stamped with the publisher's details 'Published as the Act Directs by R & S Garrard London 18th June 1837'.Designed by Garrard's chief designer at the time, Edmund Cotterill, this model was first produced in silver for Apsley House where it was displayed on the Waterloo Banqueting table from this published date until 1851.
