Richard Dighton (1795-1880) was an English artist of the Regency period. He was from a family of artists; his father was Robert Dighton (1752–1814) and he had two brothers, Denis and Joshua. His series of West End portraits was started in 1817 and over the course of the next ten years he produced in excess of 100 etchings. From 1828 he settled and worked in Cheltenham and Worcester returning to London around he middle of the 19th century again producing watercolour portraits, and from 1835, lithographic portraits.
