A 'pierhead' portrait of the Lowestoft ketch 'Defender'. When rescued by the local lifeboat, the Samuel Plimsoll in 1902, she is specifically identified as a drifter.


Depicted here in oil on board at around the turn of the 19th century and within a pine wood frame.
