Touron Dessert Knives

hover over image to zoom

A superb cased set of twelve silver and mother-o-pearl handled dessert knives retailed during the second half of the nineteenth century by Touron of Paris, the blades produced by Edme Parisot & Edouard Galliosin in the Haute-Marne and mounted with the handles in their Paris workshop. Their mark is that of a Saint Louis cross. The cutler was considered something of an innovator and received Bronze medals at the universal expositions of 1844 & 1849, and a gold medal in 1867.
