An early 19th century portrait of an officer of the 18th Irish Regiment of Foot, his shako on a green velvet-covered table, his right hand holding his telescope whilst his left hand is tucked into his sash. Beyond the open door is a distant view of the army encampment. Painted oil on canvas within a gilt gesso frame period to the painting.
