Derbyshire Fluorspar Beaker

A good Derbyshire Fluorspar beaker, the turned mineral chosen with care resulting in the veining being used to great effect. There are also attractive inclusions of galena crystals found towards the foot of the beaker.

The simple shape of this cup can be seen as Roman in origin and may reference the high regard that Blue John was held in during their period in England.
English, turned in around 1850.
