A Gentleman’s Silver Pocket Companion

We can just imagine Mr.W.C.B, whose monogram is engraved to the cover of this silver pocket companion. He is perhaps a little larger than life and would wear this heavyweight silver vesta which is combined with a cigar cutter and a sprung sovereign and half sovereign case, from the watch-chain he wears with his tweed three piece when off for a day at the races.

The silver hallmarks are for Birmingham, 1901; the maker George Unite.(reckon our man looks like King Edward who began his reign the year this was made).

The design for this piece is registered, the number struck beside the hallmarks on the closing edge.
