Bronze Turret Cannon

A period model of a bronze 24 pounder turret cannon, typically employed atop a Martello Tower, (then in iron), this model originally made to demonstrate the potential action on a turntable and track.

This design of cannon attributed to Major General Sir Thomas Blomfield, appointed Inspector of Artillery at the Royal Brass Foundry, Woolwich, in 1780.

English circa 1810.
