Country House Dredger
A brass caster or dredger similar to a form shown in Randle Holme’s Academy of Armory to be for dispensing ‘Pepper…..a well-known spice of aromatic odour and an extremely pungent aromatic taste’.
English, probably Birmingham, circa 1750.
h:5 3/8 in x 2.75 in diameter at the belly.
