Eighteenth Century Adjustable Chamberstick
A fine and substantial mid eighteenth century cast brass chamberstick, the stem made in two parts seamed vertically and cut with stepped adjustments in order to raise a diminishing candle; the lift fashioned as a tulip head. A cast carrying handle and dished base to which the stem is fixed with a threaded stud cast as part of the stem.
