Lady’s Leg Boot Jack
An early Victorian lady’s boot-jack made from solid rosewood with heavy gauge brass hinges and catches.
When opened, the two inlaid brass fittings fitted at the ‘shin’ offer a lift so as to accommodate a heel when removing a shoe or boot.
Within are two steel folding multi tools with hooks for lacing, a hole maker for leather, a tapered threaded bradawl and screwdriver. It is to be assumed that the screwdriver and bradawl are to facilitate the fixing of ice skate blades.
English circa 1850.
