Painted by Sir Joshua Reynolds who considered the subject’s face to have ‚’more grace and dignity than anything I have ever done’. This highly accomplished mezzotint by was made by Thomas Watson and published in London in 1771.

Polly Kennedy was Irish by birth, a courtesan and mistress to Sir Charles Bunbury; also known as Polly Jones, she died in 1781.
