A fine example of a Record of British Valour by Edward Orme.

Within the morocco-grained outer case is a further case appearing as a bronze medal, this ‘medal’ is a two-part box which opens to reveal a full set of thirteen aquatints, coloured by a contemporary hand, recording the ‘The Battles of The British Army in Portugal, Spain and France from the year 1808 to 1814, under the command of England’s Great Captain Arthur Duke of Wellington. Edited, published and sold by Edward Orme, Bond Street, London, 1815’.
To the reverse of each aquatint is printed a report of the illustrated battle.
Embossed to the obverse of the medal case is a portrait of the Duke; to the reverse, the figure of Victory inscribing a tablet.
