Silver Box by Luen Wo

A small Chinese silver box from Luen Wo, a silversmith working on Nanking Road, Shanghai, from the last quarter of the 19th century through to the beginning of the 20th century.

This little box has sides formed from a milled and engraved band and a friction fit lid with a repoussé scene of a sage and attendant beneath a flying crane.

Stamped beneath with the silversmith’s initials three times.
