Silver Spoons Engraved “FEW”

A fine pair of silver serving spoons in excellent condition. Hallmarked for London 1850; maker’s mark EE for Elizabeth Eaton, manufacturing silversmith.

Eaton registered her mark in 1845, giving an address of 16 Jewin Crescent, Aldersgate, St. Cripplegate. She was the widow of the silversmith William Eaton who died in 1845, hence her registering her own mark in that year. She had one son with William, John, with whom she registered her second mark in partnership with him in 1854. She showed work at the Great Exhibition of 1851.
