A fine pair of Georgian stipple engravings done by Anthony Cardon and published by him in 1804; the original works by Arthur William Devis.

Within fine period gilt gesso frames.

o.s: 23 inches x 20.75 inches

The boy holding the engaging dog just may be James Alexander Simpson, solicitor to the Fondling Hospital. He was painted by Devis and if this is not his portrait it is likely the same dog! (National Portrait Gallery D41706)
