Watch Balance Cock Chatelaine

Watch Balance Cocks up-cycled in the early 19th century to make a chatelaine, the principle four cocks retaining their jewels.

The balance cocks from pocket watches have been retained throughout all times of their being as it is this fretted and engraved gilt brass plate that informs the buyer of the meticulous exactitude bought to bear on the movement within but which is less easily seen. Witty in concept; from the central chain the wearer would most often hang their pocket watch.

English, dating from the early 19th century.
