William De Morgan Red Lustre Fantastic Bird Tile
Red lustre wall tile designed by William De Morgan with a foliage background. Described in Martin Greenwood’s catalogue “The Designs of William De Morgan”, No.964, as “Fantastic Bird”. Made circa 1885.
Condition:Tiny frittering particularly top and bottom edges. Rubbing to the lustre decoration towards the top edges left and right (Beak tip and tail) A small short crack mid right hand side and rubbing to the sprig beneath the birds chest.
